Turkish services and construction confidence indices rise sequentially in March

Turkish services confidence index rose in the month of March. According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, the seasonally adjusted confidence index for the services sector rose 2.6 percent in the month to 81.6. Within the services sector, business situation index rose 3 percent, demand-turnover index rose 3.2 percent and demand-turnover expectation index rose 1.9 percent sequentially.

On the other hand, retail trade sentiment index dropped 0.1 percent sequentially to 90.7. Within this sector, the business activity-sales expectation index dropped 3.9 percent to 82.1. Nevertheless, business activity-sales and current volume of stock indices rose 4 percent and 0.2 percent to 77 and 112.9.

Meanwhile, the construction confidence index rose 4.4 percent sequentially to 54.1 in March. Within the construction sector, current overall order books and total employment expectation indices rose 1.9 percent and 6.1 percent, respectively to 41.6 and 66.6.
