Turkish industrial production output falls year-on-year in January

Turkish industrial production dropped in January. On a year-on-year basis, the industrial production fell 7.3 percent, whereas it rose 1 percent sequentially. Delving into subsectors, the mining and quarrying recorded a decline of 7 percent and a rise of 1.7 percent sequentially.

Manufacturing sector recorded a fall of 7.5 percent year-on-year and a rise of 1.1 percent sequentially. Meanwhile, the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index saw a fall of 1.7 percent year-on-year and a slight rise of 0.1 percent sequentially.

The intermediate goods, non-durable consumer goods, energy and capital goods recorded a fall of 10.9 percent, 3.5 percent, 1 percent and 8.1 percent, respectively. Durable goods recorded a rise of 0.9 percent year-on-year.
