One of the most anticipating TV series on HBO, "The True Detective" Season 3 has finally gotten its premiere date. On Thursday, October 11, the network announced "True Detective" Season 3 premiere date. Fans have something to look forward next year as the HBO series is set for Sunday, January 13.
There are some images circulating online, showing some scenes of "The True Detective" Season 3. The loyal followers of the show are aware that Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali's has been cast in "True Detective" Season 3 in July 2017. According to a source, Ali will play Wayne Hays, an Arkansas-based police detective.
Apart from Ali, "Justice League" actor Ray Fisher will join the "True Detective" Season 3. He will play Ali's son, Freddy Burns. These details have been revealed by Deadline earlier this year. There are more familiar actors will join the upcoming season. Lonnie Chavis, who portrays the role of a young version of Randall Pearson on "This Is Us," will also join the cast of "True Detective" Season 3. He will play the role of a younger version of Freddy.
To give some sneak peak of "True Detective" Season 3, HBO unveiled several photos of the returning show. There is a photo of Ali and Stephen Dorff, which appears they are in a police interrogation room. However, the picture doesn't reveal who's opposite the table from them. There's also a photo of Wayne speaking into a walkie-talkie. In the background, there are two police cars. It seems the photo could be a crime scene because the cars are parked in the middle of a road.
Apparently, the setting of "True Detective" Season 3 is not set in modern time. The new season centers on the mystery of the two missing children in 1980. Although the pictures hint that the new season is set in 1980, according to Bustle, it will take place over three separate decades.
