‘Timeless’ season 1’s episode 6, entitled “The Watergate Tape”, follows the team as they head to President Nixon’s time in Washington in pursuit of Flynn. Meanwhile, Wyatt’s tragic past is revealed while Flynn’s time traveling intentions slowly unfold.
The synopsis for episode 6 posted on Carter Matt stated, “The mystery behind the greatest political scandal of the 20th century is finally solved when Flynn (Goran Visnjic) beats our team to the punch in Richard Nixon’s Washington.
While Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) and Lucy (Abigail Spencer) are set on an investigative course that leaves them both rattled to the core, Wyatt’s (Matt Lanter) tragic past erupts, and the secrecy behind Flynn’s hidden agenda begins to unravel.”
It seems that Wyatt will take center stage once again as his tragic past begins to reveal itself in the incoming episode. The preceding episode, entitled “The Alamo”, also gave Lanter’s character some depth beyond the stereotypical wounded tough-guy package Wyatt seems to be putting out.
According to the recap on the A.V. Club, Wyatt cemented himself as one of the most important members of the team as Lucy and Rufus refused to continue on their mission without him. The episode opened to Wyatt receiving a notice from the NSA that they are bringing another operative in to replace him since he failed to take down Flynn.
The photographs for the incoming episode posted on KSite TV show Lucy, Wyatt and Rufus in the 1970s. In one photograph, they are dressed in ‘70s garb with “Press” IDs dangling from their necks. Perhaps they will attempt to infiltrate the White House disguised as members of the media.
In another photograph, Wyatt is seen seemingly strapped to a chair with Flynn in the room. The antagonist seemed to talk to him about something important.
‘Timeless’ season 1’s episode 6, entitled “The Watergate Tape”, is scheduled to air on NBC on November 14, 2016. The new science-fiction and drama series follows three allies composed of a history professor, a scientist, and a soldier, as they travel through time to stop a criminal mastermind from changing the course of American history forever.
It was created by Shawn Ryan and Eric. It is executive produced by Ryan, Kripke, John Davis, John Fox, Marney Hochman, and Neil Marshall.
