“The Winds of Winter” is George RR Martin’s most awaited book. Fans have been waiting for years for “TWOW” to arrive but after several delay announcements, the sixth book in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series is not yet out in the bookstores. So, when it is really coming?
As mentioned in Metro UK, it has been nine years since George RR Martin released the fifth book in the “ASOIAF” titled “A Dance with Dragons.” Thus, this makes “The Winds of Winter” the longest follow-up novel and it is even not published yet up to now.
Moreover, HBO’s “The Game of Thrones” is also coming soon for its final run and yet, “The Winds of Winter” has been stuck. The 70-year-old author previously revealed that there is one more book after “The Winds of Winter” so he really needs to finish this to be able to complete the seventh novel. He is not getting younger too so there are questions if he can really finish all seven books as planned.
In any case, George RR Martin updated his Twitter with a post showing his photo. He said that it a headshot and this made fans run wild as they assumed that finally, “The Winds of Winter” is coming.
A headshot is a photo that book authors take for a book cover. Since the author has no other upcoming book, at least that is what is widely believed, they think his photo is for “The Winds of Winter.” They are hoping that this is really it – the time has come for “TWOW” publishing.
However, there is no announcement or update if George RR Martin has finally finished “The Winds of Winter” and ready to be printed. If not the most-awaited “TWOW” what could the author’s headshot be for? If it is another reference book for “Game of Thrones” history, fans will surely be disappointed because they want the sixth novel and want it now.
