"The Walking Dead" season 9 premiered on Oct. 7 with an episode titled “A New Beginning” and it was an impressive opening filled with action and emotions. The first episode also marked Angela Kang’s first outing as the show’s new showrunner and it was a big success for her.
Now, “The Walking Dead’ season 9 episode 2 is being anticipated as viewers just can’t wait to know what will happen next as Rick leads the group and they start rebuilding their sanctuary. The fans also got excited when for the first time, Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) were together in a scene.
Explaining how they thought about this, Angela Kang revealed that along with the writers, they brainstormed for ways to get the women characters together because they rarely had interactions in the recent seasons.
“Because we have these really strong women characters…we had the opportunity to really delve into some of these stories and play combinations of characters that we haven’t seen very much,” Variety quoted the showrunner as saying during the press conference prior to the premiere. “We realized Michonne and Maggie don’t have a lot of stuff together in past seasons, or Michonne and Carol. We really wanted to see how they interact now that they’ve all risen to a place of strength and leadership.”
“The Walking Dead’ season 9 episode 2 is titled “The Bridge” and as shared by Forbes, next week’s installment’s synopsis reads: “The communities join forces to restore a bridge that will facilitate communication and trade; someone is gravely injured at the construction site.”
The plot for this episode will focus on the construction of the bridge in order to make communication and trade easier. Rick Grimes is supervising the construction and once the bridge is finally completed, everyone is dreaming that the dark days will never come again and peace will continue to reign.
However, it seems that the opposite is happening as conflicts start to arise while they are building the bridge. Express suggests that Negan may become powerful again and eventually overthrow Rick Grimes, which is possible since everyone already knows that he is set to exit the show.
Make sure to watch what will take place next in “The Walking Dead” season 9 episode 2. See it on Oct. 14 on AMC.
