‘The Walking Dead’ Season 9 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Rick and Daryl to Share Some Final Moments?

“The Walking Dead” Season 9 is a crucial installment for the post-apocalyptic drama and will herald a new arc for the series. As fans know, Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) imminent death is approaching and longtime followers of the show are left wondering how the writers will conclude the character’s fate, The Daily Express reported.

Right now, all viewers can do is speculate on what’s going to happen in the next episode of “The Walking Dead” Season 9 since the showrunners are keeping a tight lid on this development. “I don’t really want to give too much away about them but you know, but it’s an effort to really pay tribute to the show and how the show got up to this point,” executive producer Greg Nicotero said.

Looking at how things are currently shaping, it appears that Rick is going to be exiting in a heartbreaking way, not just for the fans but for the characters of the series as well. One of the most anticipated scenes is when Daryl (Norman Reedus) finally sees the state of Rick after they tussled in the previous episode. It wouldn’t be hard to imagine Daryl blaming himself for the upcoming death of Rick since he was partly responsible for his friend’s predicament. “The Walking Dead” Season 9 might, and should, provide closure between these two characters in order to heal the gap that has formed between them.

And given that Daryl is expected to take Rick’s place as leader of the group, a scene where Rick asks Daryl to look over their crew could provide some tear-jerking moments. It’s also speculated that Rick might ask Daryl to abandon his desire to kill Negan as well. Looking at it from a character development standpoint, this would make a lot of sense as Daryl would need to be deeply compassionate if he’s to be the next leader. The showrunners should make sure that they handle Rick’s exit in spectacular fashion as it may be the factor that will make or break “The Walking Dead” Season 9.

This installment is already proving that the overall show is dying if the ratings are anything to go by. It goes without saying that Reedus will have to do a lot of heavy lifting in the future as Lincoln is one of the major reasons why the post-apocalyptic drama became a household name. The next episode of “The Walking Dead” Season 9 will air on Nov. 4 and will likely be the end of Rick’s journey.
