The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross / Facebook

“The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” episode 17 will be the start of a new journey for one member of the team. This is made possible due to Merlin's discovery allowing one brave soul to journey to purgatory to take back Meliodas’ emotions.

“The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” episode 16 recap

Previous “Nanatsu no Taizai” season 3 spoilers were spot on. Just as the Seven Deadly Sins despaired due to the very ridiculously powerful Chandler who transformed into his demon form, two former Ten Commandments members arrived, Drole and Gloxinia.

The two ancient kings immediately trapped Chandler with their fusion attack, the Ordohla Mineral Tree or Ore Tree Orudora in the manga series. Having trapped the demon for a bit allowed the Seven Commandments to escape except for King and Diane who wanted to stay behind and fight alongside their elders.

However, Gloxinia and Drole knew the ultimate fate that awaited them. Gloxinia uses his vines to forcefully remove King and Diane from the battlefield. Shortly after, Chandler broke free from the confines and attacked the two.

Gloxinia and Drole fought valiantly. However, they are no match for the mighty demon and after a brief clash, both of them lost their lives. Chandler began to sense where the Seven Deadly Sins were heading.

Back at the Boar Hat, the shell shocked members of the Seven Deadly Sins were still trying to process how lucky they were to be able to survive from a high-level demon such as Chandler. Merlin returned to her mature form but Escanor and the others complained of feeling a little sick.

It was revealed by Merlin that it was Meliodas’ dark energy getting stronger that’s causing their discomfort. Elizabeth decided to bring Meliodas outside for some fresh air.

They began to think plans on how to deal with Chandler assuming that they still have time before he catches up. Unfortunately for them, they were given no time at all as the skies suddenly turned into night signaling the demon’s approach.

They hurried outside to protect Elizabeth and Meliodas. To their surprise, Chandler was bowing down to Meliodas and calling him Young Master while Meliodas' form became that of the Leader of the Ten Commandments.

Meliodas explained that he will be taking Elizabeth to cure her curse. While he still remembers everything and enjoyed the time he spent with them, he was no longer the old Meliodas they know. He forbid them to interfere because he does not want to kill any of them. Before he left, he also disbanded the Seven Deadly Sins while expressing his wish to become the Demon King.

“The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” episode 17 spoilers

The remaining members of the recently disbanded Seven Deadly Sins will be shocked with the recent turn of events specifically with Meliodas disbanding the group and returning the demon’s side as their king in the “The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” episode 17. However, they will remain hopeful that he didn’t really mean those things because he’s not in his right mind at the moment.

Meanwhile, Hawks will be confused while Meliodas referred to him as Demon King. When Merlin inspects him, she’ll be surprised to learn that Hawks is actually a gateway connecting the world to purgatory. The Demon King was actually observing Meliodas and the rest of the team through Hawk’s eyes and the voice that Merlin sometimes hears actually came from the Demon King.

But Diane will have an idea to save Meliodas. Since Hawk is a portal, they could try to take back Meliodas’ emotion back from the Demon King in Purgatory. But Merlin will object because the very air in purgatory is toxic to humans.

However, Ban will volunteer to do the job in “The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” episode 17. Merlin will send him to purgatory to start a new adventure.
