The biggest challenges in the first season for main protagonists Emma and Ray were to trust each other and to plot their escape from the Grace Field House orphanage successfully. Now that they have done that, the duo faces another daunting task in “The Promised Neverland” season 2 that is to make sure they and the other orphans will survive the risks of being in the outside world.
‘The Promised Neverland’ season 2: What plot to expect?
Obviously, none of the children have ever explored the world outside the orphanage. They were being kept there like animals waiting to be slaughtered only they are going to be fed to demons. Emma and Ray are the two remaining “premium quality goods” in the Grace Field, so the demons that run the farm will do everything in their power to get them back. This also means that aside from the dangers of the outside world, Emma and Ray will have to be wary of search parties looking for them in “The Promised Neverland” season 2.
The next season will pick up from the manga’s Promised Forest story arc as it fittingly refers to Emma and her group’s exploration of the unknown forest that happens to be covered with enchanted trees and creatures. Not long after escaping Grace Field, some of the children will realize they are lost and got separated from the others. Luckily, Emma’s love of books will pay off in “The Promised Neverland” season 2. Many of the things she learned from reading William Minerva’s books will be their guide in the outside world.
At some point in “The Promised Neverland” season 2, a demon will catch up with Emma’s group and will be able to catch Ray. But several mysterious characters will show up to save them as the group plans to rendezvous in Shelter B06-32 where they plan to stay for a little longer.
“The Promised Neverland” season 2 release date
The manga adaptation was evidently a success. As soon as the first season was over, “The Promised Neverland” season 2 was announced and confirmed for a 2020 release date. A few weeks later, Toonami also picked up its English dub version.
As of now, the specific release date of “The Promised Neverland” season 2 is still unknown. However, it is likely that the anime series will return about a year since its first season’s premiere making a January 2020 release date possible.
