Local startup The VX recently opened a private theater dubbed ‘Another Watching Club’, with three viewing rooms consisting of only four seats each in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province
The business model is gaining attention as an alternative to multiplexes during the pandemic.
Each room is approximately 20 square meters and could only accommodate up to four spectators, making it South Korea’s smallest movie theater.
The theater boasts of a contactless procedure carried out via a smartphone application from reservations to entering the theater.
Each ticket is priced at 16,000 won.
Moviegoers can make a reservation in the app by selecting the preferred movie, the date, time, and the size of the group who would watch.
Each cinema is reserved on a group basis, keeping outsiders from entering during viewing hours.
