“The Last of Us 2” is coming to the PlayStation 4 and its development is ongoing. Although it may take more time for Sony and Naughty Dog to complete the much-awaited game, several facts are now available to give gamers some advance knowledge and info about the upcoming game sequel.
During the E3 2016, the very first trailer of “The Last of Us 2” was unveiled. Fans saw that the game will continue Joel and Ellie’s story, but this time, they will be older and they are enraged. Ellie is clearly out for revenge when she says at the end of the video, “I’m going to find and I’m going to kill every last one of them.”
Then again, the exact reason for her revenge is not clear. At this time, it is still an unknown crime.
Now, at E3 2018, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in June, the newest trailer was played and it showed the gameplay for the first time. In the preview of “The Last of Us 2” gameplay, Ellie is at a party and it appears that she could be gay as potential love interest shows up. In the next scene, she is shown making her way around a camp where the enemies hanged a man to death and she is ready to annihilate them.
Release Date
“The Last of Us 2” has no specific release date yet but the game’s main theme composer, Gustavo Santaolalla, revealed that Naughty Dog is planning to launch the game for PlayStation 4 sometime in 2019, Daily Star reported.
Story
Naughty Dog shared that Ellie will be older now and Joel returns as an aging man who is watching over her. Though it was not revealed yet why Ellie is very furious – as shown in the trailer – that will be the game’s theme.
It will be all about Ellie’s revenge. This means she will be the only playable character as Joel just stands at the side.
Characters
In addition to Ellie and Joel, Naughty Dog’s VP and creative director Neil Druckmann disclosed during E3 2018 that they signed up “Westworld’s” Shannon Woodward. She will be given a role but her character in “The Last of Us 2” is still unknown.
