The Hunt for Easter Eggs Brings 10,000 to Coachman Park

CLEARWATER, Fla., March 31, 2016 -- The Clearwater Community Volunteers of the Church of Scientology Flag held its 24th Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Downtown Clearwater’s Coachman Park on Easter Sunday.  Some 10,000 children and adults attended.  There were 30,000 eggs with 10’s of thousands of pieces of candy, 275 Golden Eggs and 750 eggs with tickets for Golden Age Fiction books by L. Ron Hubbard.  Families started arriving as early as 10:00 am to participate in the event.  The hunt for the eggs began at 12:30 pm sharp and was over in about a minute.

Families also enjoyed Bunny Central, (where the Golden Eggs were traded out for stuffed bunnies), a giant slide, pony rides, and hamburgers, hot dogs and ice cream.

Clearwater Community Volunteers
The Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) was established in 1994 by parishioners of the Church of Scientology with the purpose of helping to create a better community for all citizens of Clearwater and Pinellas County. CCV raises money to feed homeless and hungry children in Pinellas County through Public Defender Bob Dillinger’s program, Nourish to Flourish, and The Sheriff’s Youth Ranch. CCV has raised money, food and toys for family and children’s charities such as The Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, Inc.,  Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida®, The Children’s Home, Inc., the Boys & Girls Club, Everybody’s Tabernacle’s Homeless Emer­gency Project, and the victims of Katrina.   CCV gets its inspiration from the precept “Love and Help Children” one of the 21 precepts found in The Way to Happiness - A Common Sense Guide to Better Living by L. Ron Hubbard.
