‘The Flash’ season 3B is set to feature the introduction of DC superheroine Gypsy. Jessica Camacho of ‘Sleepy Hollow’ fame is confirmed as the newest character. Meanwhile, Barry Allen and Kid Flash may be getting new super suits in the second half of the season.
According to The Wrap, a new DC comic book character will be making her way to the small screen in the incoming mid-season premiere of ‘The Flash.’ Jessica Camacho of ‘Sleepy Hollow’ fame is confirmed to play Cindy Reynolds, otherwise known as Gypsy.
Gypsy was created by Gerry Conway and Chuck Patton and first appeared on the comic book “Justice League of America Annual #2” published in October 1984. She was a member of the Justice League Task Force headed by Martian Manhunter and Birds of Prey headed by Oracle.
Her primary super power is illusion casting, which allows her the abilities of invisibility, camouflaging, and fear projection. She also possesses the power of telepathy, which includes astral projection and limited precognition. In addition to her super human powers, she is also a skilled hand-to-hand combatant and quite efficient with firearms.
Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco on the series, teased the character’s introduction on ‘The Flash’ during The CW’s “Fan Feast” digital series. Valdes said, “There’s going to be a new visitor to our world named Gypsy… DC Comics fans will be familiar with Gypsy. She is going to be coming in our world and Vibe will definitely get to learn some new skills as part of getting to know her. So I’m excited to see how that plays out.”
Meanwhile, Grant Gustin and co-star Keiynan Lonsdale teased that their characters may be getting brand new supersuits in the incoming season. According to iDigital Times, Gustin tweeted last December 12, “I feel like Barry is passed due for a new suit.”
Gustin plays Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash on the series as well as in other series in the Arrowverse, including ‘Arrow’ and ‘Legends of Tomorrow.’ Lonsdale also teased Kid Flash’s possible new mask through a series of photographs posted on his own Twitter account. The images showed him getting a plaster replica of his face and shoulders.
‘The Flash’ season 3B is scheduled to air on The CW on January 24, 2017. The first episode is titled
"Borrowing Problems From the Future."
