In a few months, “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” will hit its 10th anniversary, and Bethesda has huge plans to allow fans to celebrate this milestone. Aside from releasing an anniversary edition of the game, the developer also confirmed the launch of new gameplay features that will be available to all players for free.
Bethesda announced in a blog post on Thursday that “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” players are getting three free additions to the Creation Club. The developer is launching a Fishing feature and a Survival Mode. There are also new quests accessible through the Saints and Seducers Creation.
It should be noted, though, that these free anniversary gifts will be accessible only if players are using the game’s Special Edition. It was the remastered release of “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” that originally launched in 2016 on Windows PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The three free Creation Club content will also be accessible for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
The much-awaited next-generation update of “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” has also been confirmed and will be released as part of the 10th-anniversary celebrations. The enhanced version will be available to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players, including those who are playing the game through Xbox Game Pass. All the announced content is slated to go live on Nov. 11, the exact day when the game was first released a decade ago.
New players can also join the festivities through the release of “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition.” It will arrive with all the free anniversary Creation Club content, along with the full game, the three expansions, and more than 500 unique Creation Club pieces that range from dungeons, bosses, weapons, and spells. Players who already have the Special Edition and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to purchase the Anniversary Edition as an upgrade option.
“The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” is the latest main title installment for Bethesda’s widely popular action RPG. Its successor, “The Elder Scrolls 6,” has been announced in 2018, which confirms that it is in development at some capacity for a while now. However, Bethesda has yet to announce when it will be released.
