‘The Catch’ season 2’s episode 2, titled “The Hammer,” is set to follow AVI as they take on a new case and protect a client named Margot, who is hunted down by a dangerous assassin. Meanwhile, Alice will struggle to keep her younger brother Tommy safe and out of trouble.
The synopsis for “The Hammer,” posted on TV Guide reads, “The AVI team take on a difficult and unlikely client who's being hunted by a sharpshooting assassin. Meanwhile, Alice (Mireille Enos) struggles to keep Tommy (T.R. Knight) out of trouble as Rhys (John Simm) and Ben (Peter Krause) are tempted by old tricks.”
The upcoming episode is set to follow the team at Anderson-Vaughan Investigations (AVI) as they take on Margot Bishop’s (Sonya Walger) case. AVI was in desperate need of clients following the events of the past season and Margot came in just in time. Ben initially warned his fiancée Alice not to get involved with the woman but it seems that she won’t be taking his advice.
It will be interesting to see if AVI can help protect Margot as she is the target of a dangerous assassin. The promo for episode 2 opens to Alice voicing out her suspicions after Margot tells her that someone is out to get her. Alice asks, “Really? Just one person?” as she aims a gun at Margot.
Meanwhile, showrunner Allan Heinberg revealed during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the current season will explore more of Alice’s backstory. Heinberg teased, “We're going to find out a lot about Alice Vaughn's past, who she was before she met [her business partner] Val [Rose Rollins], how she and Val got together.”
He continued, “We're going to meet the man she was about to marry before she met Ben. Bringing him back into the picture is going to create all kinds of complications with Ben."
T.R. Knight of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ fame has also joined the series as Alice’s younger brother. It seems that he will bring in complications for the main protagonist. Knight is set to be a recurring character throughout the series’ second season.
‘The Catch’ season 2’s episode 2, titled “The Hammer,” is scheduled to air on ABC on March 16, 2017. It was directed by John Stuart Scott and written by Jim Campolongo. It will be followed by episode 3, titled
"The Dining Hall," directed by Jann Turner and scheduled to be released on March 23.
