Exciting news will be dished out to the fans and to the cast of the hit sitcom series ‘The Big Bang Theory’ as well. So read on to discover spoilers for the upcoming episode.
Next week’s episode entitled “The Positive Negative Reaction” will circle around Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and her expecting a baby. But instead of telling the good news to her husband, she chickened out and revealed the secret to a rabbit she found on the hot tub instead.
According to the synopsis for the episode, the group finds out about Bernadette's pregnancy, and they celebrate by singing karaoke. The team released promotional photos for the upcoming scenes and it showed Howard (Simon Helberg) in his red bathrobe smiling at the news while hugging his wife.
But unknownst to his wife is that deep inside Howard is terrified at the said news. His reaction, however, will worry the mom-to-be, as her husband suddenly becomes obsessed with making more money in order to be able to provide for their growing family. Growing up without a father was hard on Howard, and he does not want that to happen to his own child.
Showrunner Steve Molaro teased about Howard's reaction to Bernadette's pregnancy in his interview with The Hollywood Reporter saying, "He'll experience many emotions! We really dig into the entire group and everybody's reactions to it. They're mostly positive but obviously with some surprise and concern about what this means for the future. ... He'll be feeling some extra pressure to step up and be the dad that his own father wasn't able to be."
The other members of the group, on the other hand, are more than happy about the news and they are very positive about a new addition to the family.
Find out more as "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
