‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 11 Spoilers: Amy Makes Decision on Sheldon’s Proposal? EP Teases Aftermath of Ramona Situation

‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 11 will feature Amy and Sheldon after he asked her to marry him. The new season will follow Amy as she makes a decision on Sheldon’s proposal. Meanwhile, executive producer Steve Molaro teased that the upcoming season will also feature Amy’s reaction to Sheldon’s kiss with Ramona.

According to Christian Today, the upcoming season will pick up after the events of its predecessor. It is set to follow Amy (Mayim Bialik) as she finally gives Sheldon (Jim Parsons) her answer following the cliffhanger proposal in the season 10 finale.

In season 10’s episode 24, titled “The Long Distance Dissonance,” Sheldon spent some time with Ramona Nowitzki (guest star Riki Lindhome) while Amy went away on a teaching job at Princeton, where she will be staying for three months. Sheldon decided to prove his friends wrong about thinking that Ramona was after him romantically. He asked her straight about her feelings to which Ramona suddenly kissed him in response.

Instead of reciprocating, Sheldon followed Amy to Princeton where he finally asked her to marry him with the ring he had with him since season 8. Amy’s answer remains unknown.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Steve Molaro was asked whether he thought Sheldon and Amy’s wedding would be a fitting series finale to which he replied, “I don't know. I don't want to think about the series finale because it's too emotional for me. Time will tell. It was a surprise to us when we decided Sheldon was going to propose and I would like to think it would be a surprise to us when they get married.”

When asked what prompted Sheldon to change his mind about proposing and just going with it, Molaro replied, “The week before the finale, Amy told him that she's going to Princeton for at least three months and that helped him start to think about where he is in this relationship. That was already on his mind and then once we introduced another woman sniffing around, that helped crystallize things even further.”

During another interview with Entertainment Weekly, Molaro explained that Amy was completely confused at that moment Sheldon showed up at her doorstep. He also teased that viewers will see how Amy reacts to news of Ramona and Sheldon kissing in the upcoming season.

‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 11 was renewed on CBS together with season 12 last March 2017.
