‘The 100’ season 4’s trailer promises an impending apocalypse on Earth. Clarke is set to struggle once more with protecting her people from death and destruction in the wake of nuclear meltdown.
According to E! News, the fourth season of popular science-fiction and drama television series airing on The CW is expected to premiere on February 1, 2017. Ahead of the premiere, an intense new trailer was dropped and featured more death and destruction on earth as the nuclear power plants began meltdown.
The trailer opens with a view of Earth from outer space as the power plants begin exploding one by one. A lone grounder is seen disintegrated by radiation in the desert while rows of body bags line the ground after people are exposed to nuclear fallout.
ALIE’s (Erica Cerra) voice is heard in the background saying, “The end is coming. The nuclear power plants that weren’t destroyed by the bombs have begun to melt down.”
She continues, “96% of the earth’s surface will be uninhabitable. Black rain will come first, there will be no drinkable water. Precancerous lesions will form. Death is inevitable.” ALIE then tells Clarke (Eliza Taylor), “Let me ease their pain, Clarke. We can save the human race together.”
It is clear that season 4 will feature Eliza and her group as they continue to struggle between merely striving as opposed to actually thriving in the new era of the human race. However, life on Earth will become increasingly difficult with the impending threat of the second apocalypse.
Clarke, one of the original hundred teens sent to Earth to test the planet’s livability following a nuclear apocalypse, will be forced to protect her people once more. However, it seems that this would prove to be a challenging task as some of them are questioning her leadership.
Meanwhile, it seems that Octavia (Marie Avergopoulos) continues to seek vengeance for Lincoln’s (Ricky Whittle) death and is out for more blood, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She also gets a new moniker Skairippa, which means "death from above."
‘The 100’ season 4 is scheduled to air on The CW on February 1, 2017. The series was developed by Jason Rothenberg and loosely based on a 2013 book of the same name authored by Kass Morgan.
