In June, the Tesla Cybertruck was the best-selling vehicle priced over $100,000 in the US, selling more than 3,200 units, according to Kelley Blue Book.
Tesla Cybertruck Tops $100k Vehicle Market
The most popular vehicle priced over $100,000 in the US in June was the Tesla Cybertruck, according to fresh data from Kelley Blue Book.
According to Teslarati, from May 2024 and June 2023, the prices of new vehicles stayed relatively constant. While the new average price for EVs was up 0.9% from May to June, it was down 2.5% from May to last year.
When comparing June 2024 to May 2024 and June 2023, Tesla's transaction prices went up. KBB attributes this to the Cybertruck's success in the US market, which increased the average sale price for the company's products.
June Sales Hit Over 3,200 Units
The June report indicates that sales were above 3,200 units. Regarding the Cybertruck's impact on Tesla's increasing ATP, the firm made the following comment:
“While prices for the popular Model Y and Model 3 held relatively steady month over month in June – although both have increased significantly since January – the new Cybertruck is likely one reason Tesla ATPs have increased. In June, the Cybertruck was the best-selling vehicle priced over $100,000 – average transaction price: $112,696 – with more than 3,200 units sold.”
As a result of last month's NHTSA recall of the all-electric pickup, many believed that Tesla had sold approximately 11,688 Cybertruck units through June, while the company has kept the actual numbers under wraps.
The latest numbers that demonstrate the Cybertruck's immense popularity despite its price tag of over $100,000 are a significant achievement for Tesla. The vehicle was characterized as divisive, and many predicted it would underperform in the market because of its unconventional styling, but the numbers appear to contradict this prediction.
