Testing FSD Supervised in Florida
Last week, drivers of what appeared to be a Tesla Cybertruck in Florida were experimenting with Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology. This comes just before the unique electric pickup will be released by the business, Teslarati shares.
Chuck Cook observed Tesla ADAS operators testing the software with the Cybertruck in Florida on Thursday, just before the debut of FSD Supervised for the Cybertruck, which is scheduled later this month. Concurrent with the sighting, Tesla has been releasing FSD v12.5 over the past few weeks; this version is anticipated to be the initial one distributed to the Cybertruck.
Within the Tesla community, Cook has gained notoriety for his FSD videos and his now-famous tests of the unprotected left turn. He is also known to frequently observe ADAS operators from the firm doing maneuver testing.
Cybertruck to Receive FSD Soon
Depending on the results of the tests, Musk has stated that the Cybertruck will receive FSD in the next "two to four-ish" weeks during his virtual speech for last Sunday's X Takeover event in California. Starting with Model Y vehicles equipped with HW4 and gradually expanding to a larger set of vehicles, Tesla has begun installing its FSD Supervised v12.5.
Musk has stated that the expansion of the software to HW3 vehicles is expected to happen this week, but the business has not yet done so despite having begun installing FSD v12.5.1 and v12.5.1.1 during the past two weeks.
Musk said towards the end of last year that the Cybertruck was not a top priority for FSD because of how few of them were on the road compared to the rest of the company's offerings.
Tesla Expands Cybertruck Testing
The manufacturing of the Cybertruck has been increasing at Tesla's Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, and the company has recently begun offering test drives for the electric vehicle (EV).
