Food blogger Markie_Devo announced the exciting news on Instagram on Friday, October 4, revealing that Taco Bell’s Double Decker Taco is set to return to menus. The Double Decker Taco Supreme will also be available for a limited time.
The Double Decker Taco first appeared in 1995 as a temporary menu item, promoted through a commercial featuring former NBA stars Shaquille O'Neal and Hakeem Olajuwon. Over the years, the particular item has earned a lasting place in the hearts of Taco Bell fans, a sentiment the company acknowledged in a December 2023 press release when it announced its latest return to U.S. locations.
The Double Decker Taco consists of a traditional taco shell filled with seasoned beef, lettuce, and cheddar cheese, wrapped in a soft tortilla layered with beans. As noted in Markie_Devo's preview, the Supreme version includes additional toppings like diced tomatoes and reduced-fat sour cream.
