Since Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise got divorced, the “Dawson’s Creek” alum and their only daughter Suri Cruise have been inseparable. However, a recent rumor suggests that the “Mission Impossible” star wants to make amends with his youngest child starting with gaining custody rights over her.
Suri Cruise custody: Does Tom Cruise want her back?
Suri has just turned 6 when Katie filed for divorce from Tom. The proceedings took a very short time to be completed and within only 11 days, Katie the divorce was reportedly finalized with Katie having primary custody of their daughter. Since then, there are virtually no photos of Tom and Suri together, and Katie has never discussed the nature of the father and daughter’s relationship in public.
However, in a recent report by Woman’s Day (via Gossip Cop) Tom is allegedly making initial steps in gaining custody of Suri and that it has struck fear on Katie. As a result, the actress reportedly is seeking advice from Nicole Kidman who was married to Tom for over a decade. Tom and Nicole adopted two children together, Isabella and Connor, who appears not to have a close relationship with their mother, and some reports attribute it to the actor’s involvement with Scientology.
The same rumor also suggested that Katie is hoping to meet with Nicole to get some help in allegedly building a case to keep Suri with her. However, Gossip Cop dismissed the report and reiterated that Tom has not manifested any attempt to get custody of Suri since his divorce from Katie.
Suri Cruise and Tom Cruise’s estranged relationship is reportedly the actor’s choice
The lack of any photos and evidence that Suri and Tom have been spending time together has led many fans to believe that they are estranged from one another. Interestingly, a report by Us Weekly in 2018 shed some light on what legal rights does Tom have in terms of Suri’s custody.
Katie has the primary custody over the 13-year-old girl. However, a source claimed that Tom is actually allowed to visit Suri for 10 days every month, but it was the actor’s choice not to make use of that visitation rights.
