Suri Cruise turned 13 recently, and her celebration was rather low profile. The occasion was held at an upscale restaurant in New York City called Delicatessen, with attendees including Katie Holmes and several of the young teen’s pals.
Photos obtained by the Daily Mail showed that everyone was happy for Suri Cruise. The group was also “quite gracious with the staff” throughout the night, Page Six reported.
So now that Suri Cruise has officially entered the adolescent stage will Tom Cruise finally return to her life? Judging by the actions of the actor – or lack thereof – there’s no indication that he’s interested in rekindling his relationship with his daughter.
It’s a well-known fact that the custody agreement agreed by Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise allows the “Jack Reacher” star to visit Suri Cruise for 10 days each month. But even with this in place, the actor hasn’t practiced his rights and appeared to have fully abandoned his daughter.
Until now, it’s still unclear why Tom chose to stay away from Suri Cruise’s life, although rumors would have it that his involvement with the Church of Scientology may have something to do with it. According to speculations, the organization has supposedly branded Katie Holmes as a Suppressive Person, an individual that has an anti-social personality.
And since Suri Cruise is the daughter of Holmes, it’s believed that “The Mummy” actor has been instructed to cut ties with them both. The last time that Tom Cruise was seen with his daughter was in 2013, one year after his divorce with the “Dawson Creek” alum was finalized. Following that, the actor has focused most of his attention with his projects and his role within the Church of Scientology.
However, it’s important to remember that this is all conjecture and no one knows exactly Tom Cruise’s reason for staying away from his daughter. Whatever the case, Suri Cruise appears to be growing up just fine even without a father figure, a testament to the dedication and hard work that has been done by Katie Holmes through the years.
