You might be missing a couple of major characters in Season 3 of “Supergirl.”
It has been noted that Calista Flockhart, who has a commanding presence in The CW show as Cat Grant, Supergirl/Kara Danver’s (Melissa Benoist) boss, is no longer listed as a full cast member. TVLine observed that the actress is expected to appear as guest star in some episodes, “if the scheduling can be worked out.” CBR said that the fact that Cat already knew about her employee’s secret, fans are hoping that she could act as a mentor of sorts for kara as she navigate the challenges of being a superhero and as a normal person she keeps up with friends and family.
Another cast member who will be returning as a recurring character in Season 3 is actress Floriana Lima, whom fans know as Maggie Sawyer, the love interest of Kara’s sister, Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh).
In a statement, the producers said, “We adore Floriana and have loved working with her to tell this inspiring story. Although she’s not available to us as a series regular next season, as she’s looking to pursue other opportunities, we’re happy she’ll be returning for multiple episodes in Season 3.”
Lima also teased her character’s fate in Season 3, when she tweeted, "While this role was only meant for one season, I'm excited to appear in season 3, as we see the #Supergirl story unfold #Sanvers and #NotOverYet”
“Supergirl” Season 3 is expected to debut in the fall on The CW.
