‘Supergirl’ season 2’s episode 16, titled “Star-Crossed,” is set to follow Kara as she discovers Mon-El’s true identity when two aliens, who may be his parents, arrive on earth. However, things won’t go as planned especially when the truth is forced out into the open, threatening Kara and Mon-El’s relationship.
The synopsis for “Star-Crossed” posted on TV Guide reads, “A new villain comes to National City, putting Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) on high alert; at the same time, she faces an attack by the Music Meister (Darren Criss). Meanwhile, Winn's (Jeremy Jordan) girlfriend, Lyra (Tamzin Merchant), gets Winn in trouble with the law; and Maggie (Floriana Lima) attempts to help Winn, but old loyalties get in the way.”
Darren Cross is set to reunite former ‘Glee’ co-stars Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist on the small screen for the upcoming two-part superhero crossover event that kicks off with “Star-Crossed”, followed by ‘The Flash’ season 3’s episode 17 where the bulk of the action takes place.
Fans can expect the three to pull out their singing and dancing chops as the musical episodes take place in an alternate reality where Kara and Barry have no superpowers. Its seems that Cross’ evil Music Meister will put them in a coma and real life and force them to live out a parallel dimension in their dreams.
The upcoming episode will kick off the two-part crossover musical with ‘The Flash’ but no details for the event have been released as of the present. Instead, the promo reveals that Kara is about to meet two aliens, who may be Mon-El’s (Chris Wood) parents. Things take a turn for the unexpected when Kara learns Mon-El’s true identity.
The new characters are revealed to be Teri Hatcher of ‘Desperate Housewives’ and Kevin Sorbo of ‘Andromeda.’ By the end of the promo, Hatcher’s character reveals that her Mon-El is indeed the Prince of Daxam and this worries Kara as she realizes the consequence of dating royalty. It is possible that Mon-El will have to return home and Kara will lose him forever.
It seems that Supergirl is quite disappointed at her boyfriend for hiding the truth from her. She even says, “This changes everything!” The promotional photographs posted on TV Fanatic offer the first look at the new characters played by Cross, Hatcher, and Sorbo. If Hatcher and Sorbo’s characters are indeed Mon-El’s parents, he sure doesn’t look too happy to see them.
‘Supergirl’ season 2’s episode 16, titled “Star-Crossed,” is scheduled to air on The CW on March 20, 2017. It was directed by John Medlen and written by Katie Rose Rogers and Jess Kardos. It will be followed by episode 17, titled "Distant Sun,” scheduled to air on March 27.
