Strong demand supports UK housing construction

The problem in UK housing construction is one of supply bottlenecks which are likely to continue restricting any increase in growth.

UK's construction PMI paints a clear picture of the housing sector leading the pack, followed by commercial construction with civil engineering a distant third, although still growing.

"These trends only change slowly over time. Overall, the construction PMI should rise from 57.3 to 57.8", says Societe Generale.
