“Steven Universe” season 6 is still happening although there is no official confirmation yet from Cartoon Network. Many fans thought that the fifth installment’s finale titled "Change Your Mind" was the last episode of the whole series because it looks that way but Rebecca Sugar already said that their guess was wrong.
Others assumed that the “Steven Universe: The Movie” replaced “Steven Universe” season 6 and it will serve as the finale. The viewers got this idea as the teaser for the movie was played at the last episode of season 5, but this assumption is incorrect as well. There will be more episodes to come.
The movie version
The poster of “Steven Universe: The Movie” was released by Cartoon Network on July 9, and it features Steven (Zach Callison), Garnet (Estelle), Pearl (Deedee Magno) and Amethyst (Michaela Dietz). They are all standing on a cliff, and while they are all smiling pleasantly, a dark, ominous figure hovers behind them, and it seems they are unaware of its presence.
This is the new villain, but its identity is unknown. Polygon suggested this could be Aquamarine since she is not in the poster. It explained that it is possible that Aquamarine has merged with someone else’s body so she could be the baddie here.

Clues for next season?
There is no solid detail about “Steven Universe” season 6 yet, but it is possible that the movie poster just provided hints on what to expect. Rebecca Sugar and Ian Jones-Quartey already revealed via a podcast that the next season would be very different as Steven get to know more about himself.
He has matured and realized many things about his life. He now knows that he doesn't have to be what other people want or expect him to be, which means that he just needs to live life the way he wants it and not what others say he should.
Based on the poster, an older Steven is featured so we could be having this grown-up version in “Steven Universe” season 6. The beach house changed too, and the gang could be facing new battles with the coming of new baddies with inverted heart gems just like the one in the poster.
Meanwhile, fans should stay tuned for the announcement of “Steven Universe” season 6. This may come soon as the movie is already complete.
