“Steven Universe” season 6 is anticipated now that the fifth installment concluded in January. Although there is no announcement yet about its renewal, it is sure to return since it is still a popular animation that maintains a good following. Plus, the ending of the fifth season says that there is a continuation to look forward to.
However, it seems that fans have to wait for a while before “Steven Universe” season 6 arrives with new episodes. This is because the series appears to be on hold as Rebecca Sugar and the production team are busy with other “Steven Universe” projects. This may also be the reason why they are not mentioning the sixth installment yet until now.
So, what is up with Sugar and the crew? First, they are preparing for “Steven Universe: The Movie” and secondly, the show creator is releasing "The Tale of Steven," a book adaptation of the previous season’s last episode called “Change Your Mind” and it is expected to be released in October.
As shared on “Steven Universe” Facebook page, the plot of this new book reads: “Once upon a time, a silly, impossible little Gem named Pink Diamond ran away from her Homeworld to the planet Earth. She transformed into Rose Quartz and gave up her existence to create a half-human child, Steven Universe. This is her story.”
Another reason for “Steven Universe” season 6 is the movie. This was already announced at the San Diego Comic-Con in July last year and Rebecca even played its teaser as the crowd cheered. Then again, there is still no word as to when this will premiere in theaters.
One thing is sure, once the movie and the book are out, “Steven Universe” season 6 will definitely follow as there is no more ground to delay it further.
