“Steven Universe” season 5 episode 29 is a bit surprising because many fans thought that the fifth season would end with episode 25’s “Familiar.” However, the animated series still continued to air and, contrary to the reports, the next episodes after the 25th were not part of “Steven Universe” season 6 but they are still under the current season.
Now, “Steven Universe” season 5 episode 29 has been announced to air as part of 1-hour special that is called “Battle of Heart and Mind.” It was stated in the description that Steven will face the biggest challenge in his life and this plot seems a perfect fit for the finale.
Yes, “Steven Universe” season 5 episode 29 is one of the final episodes because "Steven Universe: Battle of Heart and Mind" is composed of the last four chapters in season 5. It makes up the 29th to 32nd episodes of the fifth installment, which is also the fifth chapter in the Diamond Days event, as per Steven Universe Wiki.
“Steven Universe” season 5 episode 29 will follow after Steven planned a get-together in “Together Alone.” It was revealed that he organized the party not just to bring everyone together but to speak with White Diamond again too. He wanted to talk more about saving the corrupted Gems but Blue and Yellow Diamond do not agree with inviting Garnet, Amethyst, and Connie to the party. So, Steven pleaded with Blue Diamond but he was attacked by shooting a ball of energy.
In any case, the Diamond Days special began on Dec. 31, 2018, and will continue until this month. Cartoon Network announced via Twitter that “Steven Universe” season 5 episode 29 is set to air on Jan. 21.
