A golf tournament to be hosted by NBA star Stephen Curry will soon become a reality. And, it is not just any other golf tournament, but it will be an event of the PGA Tour in its 2021 Fall edition to be held at the TPC Harding Park.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Curry's hosting was set in motion after the San Francisco Parks and Recreations Commission approved an amendment to its contract with the PGA Tour unanimously.

It has been two years already since Curry started discussing with the PGA about hosting a golf event. Initially, it was to be held at the Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City.

Apparently, besides basketball, there is one other sport that the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player obsesses about, and that is golf.

In the Stephen vs The Game, Curry's docuseries on Facebook that aired last year, we learned that Curry had picked up a golf club for the first time when he was 10 years old.

Stephen Curry himself said that golf is a big part of his life, and just like basketball, the reason is because of his dad.

Both father and son have been joining the American Century Championship, a celebrity golf tournament of Lake Tahoe at the Edgewood Golf Resort.

In his eighth appearance in the golf tournament held earlier this month, Curry finished fourth.

Curry loves his golf so much that when he is sitting on the bench at a Golden State Warriors game, his mind wanders to it like he may be mulling over a swing tip.

While in the NBA, Curry looks up to Reggie Miller and Steve Nash, in golf, the NBA’s greatest shooter of all time, idolizes Tiger Woods.

What Curry appreciates so much about Woods is how he continues to find ways to improve his game even when he knows that he is already the best in the greens. And, this inspires Curry and which he copies into his basketball game.

Stephen Curry may have many more years in the NBA, but we won’t be surprised that when he finally decides to hang his basketball jersey, he will simply pick up a golf club and move over to the greens.
