In collaboration with Suntory, Starbucks Japan has unveiled its latest Chilled Matcha Brulee Latte, which is now available at supermarkets and convenience stores nationwide. This limited-edition summer treat combines Uji matcha with an aromatic creme brulee accent, ensuring fans a delightful and refreshing experience.

Starbucks has collaborated with beverage behemoth Suntory to create a "chilled cups" line available at Japanese supermarkets and convenience stores, eliminating the need to visit a Starbucks branch to sample one of their limited-edition beverages.
According to SoraNews24, The Chilled Matcha Brulee Latte, the latest addition to the limited-edition lineup, promises a refreshing summer treat. Since their debut in 2005, the cups have sported domed lids reminiscent of those used in Starbucks branches. However, a recent change in March this year saw the discontinuation of these lids, resulting in a commendable 15% reduction in the range's plastic usage.
Despite the change, the drinks' recognition still needs to be improved, as the design features the green mermaid. The latest release illustrates "the deep flavor of matcha spreading against a gradated background based on refreshing green." The primary characteristics of the famous sweet are encapsulated by mosaic-style elements, depicting the caramelized sugar visible on the surface of creme brulee desserts.
Luxurious Uji Matcha and Creme Brulee Latte from Starbucks Pairs Perfectly with Summer Cheesecake
The new flavor is purported to be a luxurious combination of Uji matcha and milk, with an aromatic creme brulee accent providing the perfect sweetness. Erin Marinan, the product development manager at Starbucks Research and Development, has made a concerted effort to ensure the beverage complements food. Her preferred pairing is cheesecake, as the matcha complements the creaminess of the cheese, resulting in a rich flavor and a light texture ideal for summer. The cheesecake's mellowness also enhances the bittersweet notes of the fragrant creme brulee, resulting in a delectable double delight.
The Starbucks Chilled Matcha Brulee Latte will be available in Japan at supermarkets and convenience stores starting July 30 and July 23, respectively, priced at 219 yen (US$1.38) each. If it proves as delicious as the chain's previous releases, such as the Sakura chilled cup, this new limited-edition flavor is expected to be a hit with Starbucks fans.
