During a live broadcast on July 15, Huawei's chairman, Yu Chengdong, teased the potential release of a tri-fold foldable smartphone.
Huawei's Tri-Fold: A Technological Marvel in the Making
Per Huawei Central, for the first time, Huawei's next-gen foldable product was addressed by Yu Chengdong, chairman of the consumer business group, on July 15. The executive appears to have dropped hints about the forthcoming triple-folding smartphone in his remarks.
Last night, on July 15, 2024, Yu Chengdong and the host, Dong Yuhui, had a brief conversation. Smartphones, research and development, the company's growth, difficulties, and more were among the many subjects covered by the Chairman during the special live broadcast.
Among these topics, the chairman of Huawei also brought up the company's forthcoming foldable device. Yu didn't say what kind of device it was, but it looked like a tri-fold.
Five Years of R&D Culminate in Innovative Foldable
According to Yu, the next-gen foldable has been in the works for five years at Huawei, but the company has been unable to implement it thus far. The business spent all that time researching and developing its cutting-edge, inventive, and feature-rich phone.
The new foldable from Huawei, he continued, is something that everyone dreams of but no one can actually create. This comment in particular suggests that Yu has subtly hinted at the impending release of the first triple-fold phone, which may happen in the next several months.
"A new folding screen product that other manufacturers can’t make, Huawei has been thinking about it for 5 years and finally developed it." Yu Chengdong stated.
Huawei has never mentioned its revolutionary foldable device before. "Now it's finally coming out!" Yu exclaims, following five years of R&D.
Potential Fourth Quarter Unveiling for Huawei’s Tri-Fold
Maybe the development of Huawei's tri-fold is almost finished, and it might be unveiled in the fourth quarter of this year. The device will most likely include a number of cutting-edge technologies and substantial consumer features due to its novel form factor.
Rumor has it that the Huawei tri-fold could sport a 10-inch screen and a Z-design layout. It has the potential to outfit a new Kirin 9 series CPU with great efficiency and powerful performance.
Along with a dual-hinge design, the triple-folding phone might also employ inward and outward folding mechanics. Because of this, the folding screen should last longer and avoid typical issues that detract from the user experience.
This method could be enhanced with a flexible screen to improve folding circumstances and user views.
