SYDNEY, Australia, Sept. 05, 2017 -- South Western Sydney PHN (SWSPHN) has selected Allscripts (NASDAQ:MDRX) leading interoperability dbMotion Solution to enable providers to easily transfer and view information between the primary and acute settings. The agreement was signed in the third quarter of 2017.
South Western Sydney PHN is a not-for-profit health organisation dedicated to supporting general practitioners, practice nurses and other primary health providers to deliver the best possible care for their patients and improve access to quality local health care for the whole community.
The PHN is the first Asia-Pacific organisation to select the dbMotion Solution. The project’s initial requirements are to connect Australia’s leading primary care Clinical Information Systems and provide a comprehensive longitudinal record at the point of care to the local hospital providers. The viewing of patient information across multiple healthcare settings enables providers to view a more complete and comprehensive record, leading to better informed decision making and enabling more favourable clinical outcomes.
The dbMotion Solution supports SWSPHN’s overall goals of improving their clinical excellence and advancement of leading quality care. Recognised as the industry-leading data connectivity and harmonisation solution, dbMotion Solution assists healthcare organisations globally to meaningfully share data across disparate systems and within clinicians’ workflows.
“We’re committed to taking a leading role in connecting the broader healthcare community of South Western Sydney and the surrounding area,” said Acting CEO Keith McDonald. “It is critical for our clinicians to have access to a single, comprehensive view of the patient’s health record in order for us to manage the population’s health and transform how health care is delivered.”
“South Western Sydney PHN’s dedication to selecting a solution that best fits the community and beyond Australia’s borders is a testament to all involved in the project,” said Allscripts Asia Pacific Managing Director David Chambers. “Furthermore, SWSPHN’s decision to host the dbMotion Solution in Australia’s own instance of Microsoft Azure demonstrates their commitment to investing in solutions that are efficient and state of the art.”
The partnership also extends a platform and opportunity for SWSPHN to collaborate with internationally recognised dbMotion sites, including in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Israel.
