South Korean singers Hwang Young-woong, Lee Chan-won, and Lim Young-woong have captured public attention, leading the rankings in the Male Singer category of the October Netizen Awards.
As of 4 p.m. local time, Hwang Young-woong topped the list with 40,475 votes, while Lee Chan-won placed 14th with 603 votes, and Lim Young-woong trailed in 20th place with 41 votes, according to data from the awards platform.
The Netizen Awards, a widely followed online voting event in South Korea, has garnered over 33 million cumulative votes. Known for its egalitarian approach, the platform allocates an equal number of votes to all participants.

These three artists have become synonymous with the resurgence of "young trot stars," a genre traditionally favored by older generations. All three gained prominence through reality audition shows, cementing their places in the entertainment landscape.
Hwang Young-woong, 33, is best known for his breakout hit "Sunflower," and rose to fame through the MBN program Burning Trotman. He now engages with his fanbase through YouTube, where he shares his music and personal insights.
Lim Young-woong, 35, achieved national stardom after winning first place on TV Chosun's Mr. Trot 1. He is affectionately referred to as "the nation's singer," with a widespread popularity that continues to grow.
Lee Chan-won, who secured third place on Mr. Trot 1, has since expanded his career, becoming a prominent TV host and showcasing his versatility across various entertainment formats.
Recently, the three stars attracted significant attention for their individual performances of the song "Is It Sincere?", originally sung by Korean music legend Kim Yeon-ja. Their renditions of the song, seen as a tribute to the iconic artist, have resonated with fans.
Hwang Young-woong's rendition was lauded for its emotional depth, with particular praise for his delivery of the lyric, "Can I ever forget?" His heartfelt voice was seen as bringing the song’s melancholic message to life.
