Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo’s divorce have numerous aftereffects, and they are mostly negative ones. At first, people posted mean comments against the actress because she immediately went back to work and continue appearing in promotional and social events just a week after her divorce was announced.
On the other hand, Joong Ki took a short break and was not visible for quite a while before he had to step out due to his scheduled start of filming for a movie. The actress was bashed for seemingly being unaffected and still feeling happy when the divorce should be one of the lowest points in her life.

But the table has been turned now as it was reported while most Korean citizens supported Song Joong Ki more than Song Hye Kyo, advertisers have different opinions. They were said to have lost faith in the “Descendants of the Sun” actor following his divorce from Advertisers have fallen out of love for actor Song Joong-ki after his recent divorce from now ex-wife.
As per The Straits Times, Joong Ki is now paying the price for his split from Hye Kyo. It was said that various media publications noticed the steep drop of demands for the actor to endorse certain services or products.
More negative effects
Based on the assessment of the experts, the actor is losing endorsement deals because many companies want to play it safe. They explained that they have concerns over hiring the actor because his drama “Athdal Chronicles” suffered from an unexpected drop in ratings after his divorce was announced.
The Korean drama industry was also forced to add new terms in their contracts after the Song-Song couple’s split. Producers want the actors or actresses to be penalized if they cause controversies resulting from divorce while their drama is still airing. The penalty is paying the company three times the agreed contract fee.
While Song Joong Ki was losing endorsement deals, it was said that Song Hye Kyo still managed to maintain her relationship with companies, so she continues to be their brand ambassador. Currently, the ex-couple has started working again for films and drama projects.
