After months of filming, Song Joong Ki’s new series dropped its first trailer. The show is called “Arthdal Chronicles,” a fantasy drama that will take place in the mythical capital of the Gojoseon Kingdom. Song Hye Kyo’s beau will play a character named Eun Sum, Soompi reported.
The overall vibe of the teaser clip provides mysterious plots and alluring sceneries, peppered here and there with tension-filled sequences. While Song Joong Ki’s new show appears to be promising, it’s been lately plagued by various reports regarding unfair treatment of its staff behind the scenes. Song Hye Kyo’s husband has yet to comment on the allegation and the production company remains silent about the matter either.
According to some of the crew who came forward to shed light on the matter, filming would usually last around 101 hours to 121 hours a week. What’s worse is that the crew isn’t being compensated for working extended hours with the production company refusing to enter labor contracts with them. Song Joong Ki previously said that he’s confident about the series doing well once it’s released and assured fans that it will offer unique and engaging characters. Meanwhile, Song Hye Kyo has signed a contract with Jet Tone Films, the production company of director Wong Kar-wai.
The actress previously expressed her desire to work with the director again as she wanted to see how matured she has grown since their last project, “The Grandmaster.” As of this writing, nothing has been revealed about what Song Hye Kyo will be tackling next. As for how the relationship of the “Fetish” actress with Song Joong Ki, it appears that everything is going smoothly for both stars.
The Korean power couple has been plagued by divorce rumors in recent months, with most of it coming from Chinese gossip media. Fortunately, it all turned out to be nothing more than fabricated stories and Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo is as happy as ever.
