Song Joong Ki’s latest series, “Arthdal Chronicles,” has now aired and first impressions on it appear to be leaning on the negative. At least, that’s what some of the numbers are implying anyway, Allkpop reported.
Studio Dragon, the production company of the series, saw its value dipping by 10 percent on Monday. It’s still unclear whether the decline can be attributed to Song Joong Ki’s series. However, given that the drop occurred the day after “Arthdal Chronicles” aired, there might be some connection to this development.
Song Joong Ki previously said that he’s confident that the series would do well as everyone involved in its production has been working hard to deliver a satisfying story. And for the most part, that’s exactly what it did.
The general consensus of the audience mirrors Song Joong Ki’s enthusiasm, with the positivity mostly stemming from its casts, story, and quality. Indeed, Nielsen Korea saw the series averaging 6.7 percent with that figure climbing to 8 percent at its peak. The 20-40 audience demographic also saw ratings landing at 4.9 percent on average and reaching 6 percent at the highest, Soompi reported.
It’s for this reason that some aren’t convinced that the aforementioned decrease in Studio Dragon’s value is attributed to “Arthdal Chronicles.” Not entirely, at the least.
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki’s on-screen chemistry with Kim Ji Won is drawing a lot of attention from fans, noting that the two stars are doing a great job at portraying their respective roles. Indeed, the pair stealing glances at each other has quickly established the romantic connection of the two characters and set the foundation of the sacrifices that will be made in the future.
With the Saenyeok tribe attacking the Wahan Tribe, the story has quickly transformed into a rescue mission with the heavy endeavor falling on the shoulders of Eun Seom (Song Joong Ki). The character’s journey has officially started, and it would be interesting to see how he’s going to rescue what’s left of his people and the hardships he’ll endure along this arduous path.
