Selena Gomez has flown off the radar for a while but has recently made headlines after announcing her latest clothing collection called Strong Girl that focuses more on comfort above anything else. The “Wolves” singer said that although these clothes look like something that people will wear while working out, it doesn’t necessarily have to be constrained in physical activities alone, Elle reported.
Selena Gomez said that the message of the collection is to encourage and empower women, to let them know that they aren’t defined by the clothes they wear but what’s underneath it. The 26-year-old revealed a lot about herself during her latest interview with Elle.
Among these revelations is that she apparently gets quite insecure sometimes and goes through “weird up and downs” that alters her mood. Although Selena Gomez didn’t say that this rise and fall is caused by her Lupus, the disease does influence a patient’s emotions.
The “Back To You” singer originally revealed her condition to the public a few years ago and has since been a beacon of hope for those suffering from the illness. Now, Selena Gomez seems to be coping well with her condition and appears to be in great shape despite battling her own body on a daily basis.
Aside from her weaknesses, Selena Gomez also revealed to Elle the things that empower her. Apparently, the “It Ain’t Me” singer’s go-to outfit when she wants to feel empowered is wearing a turtleneck and high-waisted pants.
“I feel like I’m a woman,” Selena Gomez said about how the aforementioned clothes make her feel. “It’s funny how you can put something on and it can make you feel that way, but that’s the only thing that makes me feel that way.”
But when she simply wants to lay back and take a relaxing trip around town, Selena Gomez said that floral dresses are her top choice. “I’m crazy about them, so I have tons of them. That’s my go-to. Anywhere I go, I just throw my hair in a bun and put that little dress on and some sneakers.”
