Selena Gomez has recently opened up about her upcoming album and what fans can expect from her return to the music industry. In an interview with Coach’s new “Dream It Real” podcast, the “Wolves” singer said all the songs featured in the album will all be her; there’ll be no collaboration in it, Elle reported.
“Working on this new record, I just wanted it to be me. All me. Every song is a story I’ve experienced. To that point, I think there’s no one who’s going to tell my story better than myself,” Selena Gomez said.
The revelation surprised some of the songstress’ fans since it was initially assumed that several popular artists will be working with her to produce new music. This is especially true since Selena Gomez just recently partnered with Julia Michaels to create “Anxiety,” a single explaining the arduous journey of someone who’s going through the disorder.
It’s still unclear what sort of theme this new album will follow. But judging by Selena Gomez’s statement, her music will likely be more personal, perhaps focusing on the healing process she underwent months ago. While the “Back To You” singer appears to have bounced back on her feet, her constant battle with Lupus is still an uphill climb for the young superstar.
Fortunately, Selena Gomez isn’t wanting when it comes to emotional support as her friends and family are doing a spectacular job at helping with her struggle. It’s also worth mentioning that despite the hardships that she went through, the “Monte Carlo” star is still actively helping those who are in need.
Just last week, Selena Gomez attended We Day California, a charity event that she’s been supporting for years. The singer’s presence marks her seventh year of attending the event, highlighting Gomez’s commitment with the organization’s cause, which is to help end child labor, Refinery29 reported. As for when fans can expect the album, Gomez said it will likely be dropped in the latter part of 2019.
