Samsung Electronics Co. is collaborating with the South Korean government to transfer 272 patented technologies across eight fields to SMEs for free, says the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE).
The eight fields include mobile devices, semiconductor components, displays, and medical equipment.
Since 2013, MOTIE has been helping SMEs make good use of technologies that are not currently being applied with the cooperation of large corporations. The project has already transferred 2,979 technologies from 33 large and state-run companies to 1,416 SMEs.
Samsung Electronics has shared 959 patents with 502 companies free of charge. Since 2015
Interested SMEs can participate in the program by submitting their application forms via email from April 11 to May 12. An evaluation committee will select the successful applicants.
