Another detail about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has leaked, this time through one of the certification filings submitted for the foldable smartphone. The document appears to confirm that the device will be the next Samsung product to support the company’s stylus, included the newer model S Pen Pro.
Samsung announced the S Pen Pro last January, but the stylus has yet to enter the market and the company did not provide a release date at the time. However, the accessory was recently spotted passing an FCC certification with model number EJ-P5450 and FCC ID A3LEJP5450.
One of the details the FCC checks before certifying a product is where the necessary warning statements and general device information would be printed on the device. But since the stylus is much smaller than other mobile devices, the filing contained a sample of its packaging where these labels will be placed, and it includes the list of devices the S Pen Pro will support – one of them is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.
The document also confirmed that the S Pen Pro will be compatible with all devices supported by the standard S Pen. However, its exclusive Air Actions feature will be limited to only nine products, including Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G, that runs on One UI 3.1 or later.
The timing of the FCC certification and the fact that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is listed as one of the support devices suggests the S Pen Pro could be one of the products that will be available following the summer Galaxy Unpacked.
In another recent Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 leak, a report found from the Korean blog site Naver may have revealed pricing details for the foldable smartphones, including the Galaxy Z Flip 3. The next Fold would reportedly cost between KRW 1.9 million (~$1,660) and KRW 2 million (~$1,746), while the Galaxy Z Flip 3 could be priced around KRW 1.2 million (~$1,048) to KRW 1.28 million (~$1,118).
Aside from the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung is also rumored to announce the Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy Buds 2 at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked. Several sources have now reported that the launch event will take place on Aug. 11.
