Robinhood Chain Meme Coins Slide as Stock Token Locks Rise

Robinhood Chain meme coins are facing renewed selling pressure, although trading activity and demand for stock-linked meme pools remain elevated. Artificial Inu (AI) fell 10.4%, while Cash Cat (CASHCAT) dropped 12.3% over 24 hours.

Despite the declines, Robinhood Chain recorded roughly $1.71 billion in 24-hour trading volume, according to DexScreener. The network, launched July 1, has emerged as an experimental market combining memecoins with tokenized stocks.

Some smaller tokens posted dramatic gains. MOIN surged about 3,929% on $85.6 million in volume, while DogBull jumped 145.8%. Robinhood Chain-based Bundle Cat climbed 87.1%, and Mushroom advanced 25.6%. Meanwhile, GreenHood led losses with a 59.1% plunge.

Broader market sentiment remains cautious, with CoinGecko's Fear and Greed Index at 44, placing cryptocurrency markets in the fear zone.

A key development is the increasing amount of tokenized stocks locked in meme liquidity pools through Long, a Robinhood Chain launchpad. Unlike conventional memecoins paired with ETH or stablecoins, Long allows creators to pair tokens with Robinhood stock tokens.

MEME currently holds more than 35% of AMC stock tokens within Long's lineup, giving it the highest lockup ratio. Each MEME purchase adds additional tokenized AMC to its liquidity pool.

Artificial Inu, Long's flagship project, has a market capitalization of about $200 million and locks more than $2.6 million worth of NVDA tokens. However, holding AI does not provide investors with ownership rights to Nvidia shares.

The stock-locking mechanism can reduce available on-chain token supply and potentially create pricing distortions when traditional U.S. markets are closed. In one example, DeFiPrime reported that the HIMS token traded as much as 112% above the underlying stock's previous NYSE closing price.

The next test for Robinhood Chain will be whether stock-token lockup ratios continue climbing if memecoin prices weaken and trading activity cools.
