“Riverdale” season 4 is coming with more adventurous episodes as the third ended in May. The CW officially renewed the show and filming immediately commenced, just after two weeks since the announcement.
The third season presented a very surprising and puzzling finale that seems to suggest that one of the main characters - Jughead - has died. However, because it was not shown if this actually happened, fans are anticipating “Riverdale” season 4 to see if Jughead is really not coming back.
Season 3’s cliffhanger
The finale could be Cole Sprouse’s last episode as the ending scenes are teasing the viewers about Jughead’s possible death. But will Archie’s friend be killed off in “Riverdale” season 4? There were reports that Jughead lived, but still, the answer will be revealed during the first episode of the series’ fourth season.
Will the cast of the show return?
With the third season’s finale, it is not certain if all of the cast members are coming back to reprise their roles in “Riverdale” season 4. The last installment concluded with many people missing or implied to have left the town so not everyone may return. However, one character was confirmed to return so far, and he is Wyatt Nash. As per Deadline, he will still be in the series for a recurring role.
He will be an FBI agent and Jughead and Betty’s half-brother too. With his character, he is likely to get involved with happenings around the town, and probably, he will get entangled with the teens’ lives in Riverdale as well.
A cast addition is in the works for “Riverdale” season 4, and it was reported that “Supergirl” actor Sam Witwer has joined the cast. He will be a prep school lecturer named Mr. Chipping, and he has set his eyes on Jughead Jones which is not a good thing. He is more like a villain than a friendly new person in town.
The upcoming episode titles and airdate
The first two titles of “Riverdale” season 4 was divulged. The premiere episode for the new season is called “Chapter Fifty-Eight: In Memoriam” and the second one is “Chapter Fifty-Nine: 'Fast Times at Riverdale High.”
Apparently, the first episode will also pay tribute to Luke Perry’s death, who played Archie’s dad, Fred Andrews. The actor died while season 3 was airing and he was not given a proper farewell episode yet, so this will happen in the fourth season. “Riverdale” season 4 will premiere on Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
