“Riverdale” season 3 episode 8 will end the series’ run this year with a major plot involving the return of Gladys Jones (Gina Gershon) in the life of his son, Jughead (Cole Sprouse). Family reunions are generally a pleasant event but will that be the case for FP (Skeet Ulrich)?
Jughead, along with Archie (KJ Apa), has been running away from their town. But without anywhere else to go, Jughead is forced to stay with his mother. Fans are also excited with the appearance of Jughead’s sister, Jellybean (Trinity Likins), in “Riverdale” season 3 episode 8.
However, what is not shown in promo videos is FP’s response to this development in Jughead’s life. As fans know, Jughead grew up with his father and he has not seen Gladys for a very long time. That amount of separation must have meant a huge rift in Gladys and FP’s relationship. Hopefully, “Riverdale” season 3 episode 8 will explore that aspect as well.
Skeet Ulrich teased that his character, FP, will have many reasons to worry about the mother-and-son reunion happening in “Riverdale” season 3 episode 8. “You know, he’s started to get life by the horns a little bit and find a workable a life with Jughead and their situation, and she’s the x-factor. As in most toxic relationships, you know, there’s someone that just sets you off. So, I’m curious to see what happens going down the line,” Ulrich told Collider.
In the “Riverdale” season 3 episode 8 teasers, Gina Gershon is credited as a guest star. However, there is always the possibility of seeing her in more episodes. With the fact that FP is against Jughead’s reunion with Gladys, Ulrich described Gershon’s character as a “wild card” whose return could open more storyline possibilities in the future.
Meanwhile, fans can also notice in the “Riverdale” season 3 episode 8 promo videos that Jughead is not delighted to be back with his mother. At one point, Jughead even tells Gladys that he and Archie “just don’t know where to go.” On the other hand, Jughead is obviously happy to see Jellybean again.
“Riverdale” season 3 episode 8 is going to be the mid-season finale. It will be out on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
