Fans have been guessing when “Rick and Morty” season 4 is coming. Previously, it was speculated that it could premiere on April 1 – on April Fool’s Day, however that did not happen. The date was the popular guess because Adult Swim released the third season on this same date without any announcement.
This means that “Rick and Morty” season 4’s airdate was a surprise and it took place on the day when people prank each other. Thus, the viewers were thinking this is the same time when the new season is coming even though there is no notice of the release.
In any case, fans are upset at Justin Roiland because while “Rick and Morty” season 4 is not yet around, he was able to launch his new game. The show’s co-creator, who also voices both Rick and Morty, responded to the fans protest when he appeared at the PAX East gaming convention for his new video game called “Trover Save the Universe” promotion.
They said that how can he promote the game yet when he needs to work and release “Rick and Morty” season 4 first. In an effort to explain, Justin Roiland used social media to communicate with the fans, via Instagram, he wrote: “Rick and Morty Season 4 is happening. It’s amazing. It’s coming.”
He added, “No need to be upset that I also make other things. Also, no need to argue - with the folks begging for S4. I take it as a compliment.”
Roiland’s post regarding “Rick and Morty” Season 4 could actually be a hint that it is coming soon. Fans think that the show creator posted the assuring message because they are now preparing for the fourth season’s debut and planning a surprise release once again. It is yet to see if the fans’ assumption is right.
