There’s no denying that the Redmi K20 Pro is 2019’s, flagship killer. With excellent design and hardware priced at under $400 for the base entry, it’s difficult to compete against this device.
Even the OnePlus 7 Pro would be hard press at killing the Redmi K20 Pro. In fact, it can even be argued that the latter has taken a significant amount of wind out of the sails of the former.
Sure, the OnePlus 7 Pro sports a few features that the Redmi K20 Pro doesn’t have. But overall, both devices can deliver a high-end experience with a huge cost disparity.
Redmi K20 Pro vs. OnePlus 7 Pro
The OnePlus 7 Pro has a starting price of $480 for the 6GB RAM/128GB storage version, while the Redmi K20 Pro with 6GB RAM/128GB storage is sitting at $399, AndroidAuthority reported. That’s a significant amount of price difference for both devices performing at relatively the same level.
The only argument that can be thrown on the feet of the Redmi K20 Pro is its software. For anyone who’s been a fan of Android, it can be a bit jarring jumping on the Redmi K20 Pro on account that it’s running the heavy MIUI. The device has been criticized for its spammy notifications that have irked a lot of users.
Other than that, the Redmi K20 Pro is a great smartphone. It has a triple camera with a 48MP primary shooter, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 13MP ultra-wide lens. The front-facing snapper is at 16MP that has been housed on the top of the handset and can be summoned through its motorized design.
Redmi K20 Pro can last more than a day of use
For its display, the Redmi K20 Pro has an AMOLED screen with a 91.9 percent screen-to-body ratio thanks to the motorized selfie camera. Under the hood, Xiaomi gave the device the Snapdragon 855, allowing for faster and smoother performance. Finally, the battery is at 4,000 mAh that can last a day and a half depending upon usage.
For a phone that’s priced below $400, that’s an insane amount of value, especially with today’s selection, where the aforementioned features can largely be found on high-end handsets. With the Pocophone F2 unlikely to come out this year, the Redmi K20 Pro will likely be hailed 2019’s best mid-range phone unless some dark horse blindsides the market and deliver an even better price-to-performance ratio.
