Eric (Luke Roberts) and the rest of the Crisis Resolution team will face one of the biggest challenges yet in the “Ransom” season 3 finale. Cynthia (Karen LeBlanc) and Tyler (Emmanuel Kabongo) are going to be caught in a possibly deadly situation, and it is up to Eric and the others to save them.
With a case that will hit so close to home, Eric will be desperate to do all that he can to save a colleague and a friend. In fact, the synopsis of “Ransom” season 3 finale indicates that the main protagonist will be “forced to break all the rules” in order to save Cynthia and Tyler.
Considering that the next episode, titled “Story for Another Day,” is the “Ransom” season 3 finale, it would not be surprising if it concludes with a big cliffhanger. Cynthia and Tyler could be out of danger by the end of the episode, but it could be achieved at the expense of Eric's job.
Having Eric's employment status on the chopping block would be an interesting way to end things in “Ransom” season 3. It could also stir enough curiosity among its loyal fanbase to permit a fourth season.

Meanwhile, the events in “Ransom” season 3 finale were foreshadowed in the last scenes of episode 12. While going for an evening stroll with Cynthia, Tyler received a call from a cryptic guy asking if he has already retrieved his laptop.
Tyler told the guy that he did and agreed to deliver it to him. However, Cynthia's brother immediately destroyed his phone, suggesting that he was not planning to fulfill his promise to that sketchy person. But, in return, Tyler has put himself and Cynthia in grave danger in “Ransom” season 3 finale.
“Ransom” season 3’s 13th and last episode will air on Saturday, May 25, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. After that, the waiting game begins on whether or not the show will be renewed or canceled.
