“Power” season 6 was already reported to be the series’ final run, but it seems this is not the case anymore as its producer 50 Cent recently made an announcement that he changed his mind. The rapper ended up canceling the previously confirmed finale after realizing that they still have so much to offer to the viewers.
As mentioned on People, 50 Cent revealed about his plans for another season after “Power” season 6 through social media. Last week, he wrote on Instagram, “I Changed my mind POWER is not going to be over after season 6. This s**t is too good.”
While the show is not ending on “Power” season 6 anymore, the launching event that is set to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York on Aug. 20 is assumed to push through. Deadline reported that 50 Cent would lead the performance and special guests await the viewers. The event will be open to the public, but fans who want VIP tickets can buy them starting July 9.
Of course, the cast of “Power” season 6 is expected to be on the stage as well including Omari Hardwick, Joseph Sikora, Lela Loren, Michael Rainey Jr., Naturi Naughton, Rotimi and Alani “La La” Anthony. Shane Johnson, Larenz Tate, and Jerry Ferrara are coming to the launching show too, plus new cast regulars like Evan Handler, Michael J. Ferguson, and Monique Gabriele Curnen.
“Power” season 6 is set to arrive on Aug. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on Starz. It will run for 15 episodes, and while it was just confirmed that there would be season 7, the planned spinoff is still in the cards and likely to begin filming soon. Meanwhile, it is uncertain how the production team will resume the drama after the sixth installment since they already revealed that this would be the end of the first chapter titled “Final Betrayal.”
