“Power” season 6 was renewed in 2018 and after a year, it will be debuting via Starz. However, there were rumors that the series has been delayed due to the death of a crew member in December last year while working on the set. Courtney Kemp, the series’ showrunner debunked this report by updating her social media with a photo of herself and saying she is back in New York for the table read of the sixth installment’s eighth episode.
With her update, it is clear that the production of “Power” season 6 is on schedule and they are almost done filming the whole season. There will be just 10 episodes in all for the upcoming drama sequel so it means that in January, they already completed seven stories and three more to go. It is April now so they are probably done with filming already.
Plot
Via TV Line, the showrunner revealed that Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and Tommy’s (Joseph Sikora) friendship has ended and this will be shown in the first few episodes of “Power” season 6. Their friendship turned sour since Tommy shot Angela (Lela Loren) in season 5’s finale.
Courtney Kemp added that Tariq (Michael Rainey), Ghost’s son will have a bigger role in “Power” season 6. He will try to be in the drug business while Ghost tries to get out of it and he could succeed in infiltrating the business and get rich.
Cast
50 Cent (Kanan) already exited from the show so he will not be in “Power” season 6. Lela Loren as Angela lives so she will be back after recovering from the gunshot wound she received from Tommy. As per Digital Spy, the rest of the series’ regular cast members including, Naturi Naughton (Tasha), Rotimi Akinosho (Dre) and LaKeisha Grant (La La) are set to return.
“Power” season 6 has no air date yet but it was predicted to arrive in July.
