“Power” Season 5 only has a single episode left and it’s a crucial step in how the major players in the crime drama series will act in the next installment. In episode 8, audiences saw Kanan (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson III) killed off after Tasha (Naturi Naughton) framed him.

Kanan’s death heightened the distrust between Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and Tommy (Joseph Sikora), which had been brewing for quite a while. But the finale of “Power” Season 5 is set to further intensify that distrust given that the ninth episode saw Angela (Lela Loren) being given the choice of taking the fall or snitching up on Ghost, Digital Spy reported.

Showrunner Courtney Kemp previously said that they want audiences to feel that no character is safe in the series and they’re employing that tension masterfully in “Power” Season 5. Indeed, the ninth episode saw another character getting gunned down as Tommy killed Teresi (William Sadler), his own father, after learning that his old man compromised his position.

After the dark deed was accomplished, Tommy felt heavy regret and admitted his crime to his own mother (Patricia Kalember). For her part, Kate Egan said her son “did the right thing” as she consoled the broken man. All these deaths in “Power” Season 5 have fans fearing who will get killed off next.

The most likely candidate is Angela given that she will be pitted against Ghost in the final episode of “Power” Season 5. Of course, the FBI operative can still turn the tables against the drug dealer, although how she will actually do that is still unknown.

Now that Angela is at the end of her rope, she’s now questioning why she got herself wrapped in the shady dealings of Ghost in the first place. This is a great allusion to the ninth episode dialogue featuring Ghost when he told Tommy that people are often blinded by a person’s true motives if they let someone get too close to them. The final season of “Power” Season 5 will air on Sept. 9, which will tie a lot of loose ends together and set the stage for how the next installment will unfold.
